Customer Reviews

Your mascara search is overThis is it. This is the one you want. As someone who fosters a healthy obsession for makeup, I don't say this lightly. So what makes this particular product so spectacular? So many reasons, but I am going to limit this review to my 3 favorite ones.1. This is the most recent obvious one, but the price point is clearly fantastic. Mascara is perhaps the most important product in my daily beauty routine, and over the years I have spent money on expensive brands like Dior and Benefit. But at upwards of $20 a bottle, I never felt like these products were paying off. This Maybelline formula is drugstore priced, but high-end quality. This means that you can afford to get a new bottle every month or two to keep your mascara look fresh without breaking the bank. The fact that this product is $6 is absolutely ridiculous- I wish I had been buying it years ago!!2. I love the application wand. It is curved at the end, which gives your lashes a lot of curve, ideal for people who like to skip the eyelash curler in the morning. The shape also makes it perfect for really getting into those small spaces and curves of your lash line that are sometimes missed with a straight wand.3. The formula is, in a word... DREAMY. It is black- the kind of true black that creates such drama and intensity in the lashes. It goes on easily- a few swipes of the wand and your lashes, like the name claims, WILL look almost like falsies. It costs the lashes without feeling thick or heavy, and it is shockingly hard to create clumps (with the amount of volume you get with this product, you would expect MUCH more clumping). I like to use the curved end of the wand to tease out the ends of my lashes to create a beautiful fringe look. The length is like nothing I have ever experienced with other mascara brands- when I use this, my eyelashes LITERALLY brush my browbone... It's amazing. These are just a few reasons to buy this product, but from one makeup aficionado to the next, GET THIS MASCARA. Every SINGLE time I wear it, I get endless compliment on my eyelashes, and at least one person asks me what mascara I use. Every day. That is just the kind of product this is. So, do yourself a favor and buy this, you won't regret it :)*in the picture, I am wearing no makeup other than this mascara. I did not use an eyelash curler and only did a light coat, and THAT is the result... It's amazing <35Different brush not as goodI am not thrilled because I have bought this mascara before but they changed the brush - it is not as small/fine as it used to be and it is totally causing my lashes to clump together. The brush does not look like it does in the photo anymore. Would not buy again.3Expensive mascara (really!) packaged in a discount bottle!I used to be a gigantic mascara snob. I still consider myself to be one, but I realized that it was more important to be hygenic and change mascara out every 2-3 months and prevent eye infections than to spend a ton of money on expensive mascaras. Nobody can tell the difference anyway. I was spending $30 a tube on designer tubes of mascara, thinking that fairies were dusting my lashes with glitter or something, and yet all I was doing was throwing dollar bills down the drain.Once I learned that certain designer brands are owned by larger companies and repackaged under different labels, I was stunned. I refused to believe it at first but I'm a believer. Maybelline is owned by Loreal, who is evidently owned by the same people who package the YSL, Body Shop, and Lancome lines. Expensive wrapping paper no more for me. This is good product in a more teenage tube. If you did a blind product test and put this in a gold tube, you wouldn't know the difference. It does a good job of darkening, volumizing (my main need) and holding on all day. As well as being easy to remove but not being smudgy. Just the right amount of staying power. I will keep buying this stuff as long as they make it-and they keep making new "flavors" to try, so there will never be a shortage!4and this is one of my favorite. Its curved brush prevents extra mascara from ending ...I have tried a lot of different mascaras, and this is one of my favorite. Its curved brush prevents extra mascara from ending up on your eyelids. You can add one coat for a more subtle look, or add several coats for more dramatic eyelashes. I haven't noticed it flaking off at all, and it stays on throughout the day.5Best mascara I've ever used!I've told myself for many years that I was never going to wear false eyelashes and thanks to Maybellines Flasies, I can continue without! I was hesitant on buying this mascara for a while actually because I heard some bad things about it like clumping, flaking, and is a bit hard to get off. But I have to say the cons are definately worth the pros! If you're looking to lengthen your eyelashes, this is the one. They look so beautiful and long that they give the appearance of false eyelashes. My eyelashes touch my eyebrows when I use this! Doubt I'll find anything better, but if I do, I will return with an update. Pictures included.5
