Two Stars I feel like this is a knock off version! Doesn't stay in like original brand. 2Not the same. I should say that I've used BareMinerals foundation that I buy from a well known cosmetics store for about 6 months. I found this on Amazon and was excited because I thought that I was saving money and a trip to the store, where I will inevitably overspend on unplanned purchases.Within 2 days of using this, I started to break out badly. When I apply it, I kept going back for more product, because I didn't notice any coverage or any of the usual mattifying properties that I normally see with BareMinerals when I first apply. When I examine it further, the color seems off as well as the texture and consistency.I have to wonder if this is even the genuine product. The packaging looks to be the same, although it did not arrive in a small box like it does when I buy if from the store. I hope that I'll be able to get my money back. 1Great product. I was using Sheer Cover until my ... Great product. I was using Sheer Cover until my face broke out. My dermatologist said it was rosacea. I stopped using Sheer Cover, although I am not sure it had anything to do with my outbreak, and started treatment for the rosacea. The redness was very embarrassing so I began looking for another makeup to cover the blemishes that would not irritate my skin more. I found a very helpful employee at a Bare Minerals store and started using the product. I am happy to report that the rosacea is almost gone due to using Prosacea cream on the blemishes. The Bare Minerals products cover any blemishes beautifully and does not leave my skin feeling oily or dry. I will keep using this product. 5Counterfeit! Don't buy! I've been using Bare Minerals for over 10 years. This is NOT real bare Minerals original foundation. I dont know what's in it but I wish I had purchased where I normally do. Had to put 3 times as much on and still couldn't get coverage. It's more like mineral veil. Zero coverage. I had to purchase another one from a reputable store. The one on the left is real. The color of the name is different, letters on the back are all caps for the real version and lowercase for the fake. Different code for color and even the lid is a different shape. If you want the real stuff, buy from a reputable company that sells the brand. 1Appears fake, shipping a lot longer than expected This looks so fake, from the look, feel ans shape of the package to some of the font and lettering on the back. It was sealed inside, so that s good, but the makeup color, coverage and consistency is what really made me want to examine the packing in the first place.... it s just off! I didn t think it was horrible at first, wasn t even going to bother writing a review, I usually don t, but after a few uses, I stared to break out! Not to mention, when I first ordered, said it would arrive 2days, but it didn t come for a whole month, causing me to have to run to the actual store to buy it since I needed it for holiday parties... so now I have two, totally different, expensive powders.... I just wouldn t take a chance if I were you, just go to the store so you know what your getting. 1My go-to foundation - controls oil & makes skin look flawless This is my go-to foundation, and I've been using bareMinerals for over 10 years. Easy to apply (I use a kabuki brush to apply). Lasts all day for me. My skin is oily, and the MATTE helps control oil very well. It makes my skin feel soft and look flawless.My skin is also acne prone, and this foundation helps cover up scars easily. I do make sure to keep my kabuki brush clean, though. I wash it with soap and warm water every couple of weeks.This foundation is very easy to apply, just sift a bit of powder into the cap and swirl the kabuki brush into the powder and then buff your skin with the brush. I find that the more evenly I buff my skin with the brush and powder, the better it looks and feels. 5Go To product for sensitive skin, UV protection I live by this make up, as someone on a TV set told me long ago that creamy foundations can cake on or look overdone. Basic Minerals has some UV protection in it too. Though they don't pretend to be a true SPF 30 sunscreen, I think every bit helps.I have very sensitive skin and after 15 years of using this, I've never once broken out. Considering the UV protection added, which irritates many, that's even more impressive. I get frequent compliments about my skin complexion, and I think Bare Minerals has a lot to do with it. 5This is the one makeup product that I use every day. This is the one makeup product that I use every day. The first few times I bought it, I used the original (non-matte) version. I switched to the matte to help get rid of the shininess left behind with the original. Choosing between the two depends on your skin type and on the moisturizer you are going to put on underneath. If you like to use a thicker / creamier moisturizer, or if your skin is oily to begin with, you might like the matte better (that's my case). But I've also found that in the winter, the matte version can make my skin look dry no matter what I put underneath it.Overall this is a fantastic foundation that is easy and fast, perfect if you are rushed in the morning. 5Not the same/real thing I ordered this thinking it was a great deal. I have been wearing this foundation for several years now. I was so disappointed when it arrived and was very different from the original/jar that I had been using. The one I ordered from the Amazon seller was very very shiny - it had looked like putting sparkles on my face. And it had zero coverage. I took it to the BareMinerals store to see what was going on. They told me that the company had changed the formula of the 'original' to have luminosity/brightness. However, they noted that the jar/logo was different from the store and the barcode did not scan. So, maybe this is fake or maybe it is a new formula --- BUT it is not the same. The store clerk helped me find the foundation that I was looking for -- which is now called Matte Foundation. My advice: go to the store and spend the extra money to get what you want. 1Great mineral foundation I was looking to buy a new mineral foundation and chose bareMinerals because I've heard good things about the product and the company doesn't test on animals, which is incredibly important to me. I kind of took a stab in the dark about which shade to order but my gut instinct was right and I have a perfect match. Very easy to apply and great coverage. I only apply a very light layer in the morning and that's it for the day. If I had evening plans or wanted to look refreshed for an evening outing, I'd probably apply a second light layer prior to the outing but it isn't necessary. I'm happy to have found my new mineral powder :-) 5
